Problem On Sarcoptic Mange
Our dogs have been diagnosed by the vet to be suffering from sarcoptic mange. He told us to use Dr. Kauffman’s Sulphur Soap in bathing them. Unfortunately, it has been weeks since we’ve been doing this but the dogs are not getting any better. I’ve read about a few medications being given to dogs with Sarcoptic mange such as Ivermectin and Revolution, but most unfortunately so, they are not available here in the Philippines.
Any suggestions? Thanks.. God Bless..
You can get many of these medications shipped to you online if you get a prescription from your vet. I also wonder about the application of the sulphur soap. Your dog should be bathed in the product but you should not rinse it off. I know it smells horrible but after a few hours the smell will go away. When you apply the product and immediately rinse it off it may not being coming in contact with the mites. They live down in the hair folliciles and the layers of skin. The soap needs time to penetrate these layers.

Please help!! My cats have pretty bad mange. Need home remedy known to be safe & effective for cats! Thanks!?
Recently became aware that my cats itching was not b/c of fleas (tons of treatment) but from mange mites! I cannot afford a trip to the vet and am also weary of chemicals used to treat mites. I have found a number of mite remedies but all have been for dogs with no side notes indicating they are safe for cats. Please help if you have any information or experience.
Homeopathic Sulphur, either in drinking water or if the cat will take tablets, bath the affected area with warm water to ease the irritation
How do I treat mange on my cats?
Ok so i live on a farm and currently have 5 adult cats and 10 kittens. They look pretty rough. Some of them have patches of hair missing which i am assuming is from mange or scabies. I am wondering if there is any way to treat all of them easily without having to spend so much money to go to the vet. Does anyone know of a way to kill it with an at home treatment that would be easy use. They live in a little barn like building which use to have hay in there but i recently cleaned it out. It still doesn’t seem like anything has helped.
Rule out mange by having your cats checked
The only way to rule out mange (scabies) is for the vet to do a skin scraping and look for the mange mites under a microscope. Infection and ringworm can mimic the appearance of it. It’s best to have them checked out and let the vet prescribe medication for them. There is no home treatment for it…a carefully controlled dose of medication is needed based on body weight. If it is mites, they don’t live in the environment, only down in the deep skin layer, so cleaning the barn won’t make a difference. Find a vet who understands you have a bunch of farm cats and can’t spend a lot…maybe he can help you out.

Good nutrition, control of other parasites such as worms and fleas, and follow the vaccinations are all important factors in the prevention, although other veterans believe that vaccination effectively reduces the resistance of the animal to mange. They recommend homeopathy, fasting, and various vitamins and minerals, and the application of lemon juice to the affected area. All veterinarians agree that cortisone should never be used to treat mange.

Problem On Sarcoptic Mange
Hello everyone! i took my 14 week old kitten to the vet today and he told me that my kitten has sarcoptic mange. and it will cost $550 total to treat him. i am freaked out cuz i cant afford it, but i know it has to be dealt with SOON, so i wanted to try a home remedy for it if there is one.
Home remedies For Sarcoptic Mange
No, there are no home remedies. Try taking him to a few other vets (or call around) to get other quotes. I have worked in animal hospitals for 14 years and this sounds expensive. I’ll bet if you check around you can get a less expensive treatment or a place that can take payments. Also, be careful! Sarcoptic mange is transmittable to humans and other animals!
